Unity/Differentiation | Hierarchy | Story​

When asked to visually tell a story of important historical figures through King, Queen, and Jack playing cards I was inspired by my Indian heritage to research the Indian Independence Movement. 

 

The figures look towards each other, building confidence. Connecting through colours, brighter and more hopeful with each card. Backgrounds grow in contrast and detail, inspired by 1940s Indian architecture and design. Corner icons reflect the lotus, blossoming from seed to flower inspired by the Ashoka Chakra in the centre of the Indian flag.
